Pine Trees Square, Cala Ratjada

Pine Trees Square, Cala Ratjada

This square in the village of Cala Rajada derives its unique character from the remaining stands of 100 year-old pine trees and the project brings to the square a geometric tapestry of painted concrete and stone which delineates areas of movement and quiet.

Two distinct zones define how the square can be used; one, a shady area – so important in Mediterranean urban spaces – for general use as a public space, and the other a multi-use horizontal section where diverse commercial or festive activities can be held.
