“Portal del Coneixement” Knowledge Gate. Urban improvement plan for the South Campus, Barcelona

The Urban Improvement Plan establishes the volumetric reorganization of the buildings of both universities, UB and UPC, while it sets out and articulates public spaces to make the whole complex function as a sole Campus. It also involves the regulation of road traffic within the campus and the immediate surrounding area.

The proposed buildings create continuity on the ground floors of the Campus, recognizing the limits imposed by the size of the plots. On the upper floors, an isolated recognizable geometry
corresponds to the larger scale of the city.
